FutureWorks Career Center serves job seekers and employers. See our website www.getajob.cc for an overview of our services. Our youth area is looking for dynamic individuals to assist in a youth program.
Our school based Scholarship to Work program seeks to keep youth in school through educational supports and workplace incentives. You must be comfortable working with inner city youth. The ideal candidate would be able to tutor students individually or in small groups.
A strong command of English, math and/or science subject matter is needed. You will be working in a nontraditional educational setting with young people who have multiple barriers to success in the educational system. We serve as a resource in helping them deal with those barriers.
We are flexible as to the dates of the term of the internship.
Minimum Requirements:
1.Knowledege base to tutor in English, math and/or science at the high school level.
2.Comfortable in a multicultural environment.
3. A strong desire to work with a hard to serve population.
4. The ability to be honest and tactful with students.
5. You must be willing to serve as a role model by being dependable and exhibiting the skills need to succeed in the workplace.
