Description:
We are a small arts-based non-profit organization called The Buttonwood Tree. We started as just a used-book store and then in 1991 became a nonprofit and began reaching out to the community as a center for the arts. We have space here to provide artists with a space to display, perform and create their art. We have poetry, music, dance and theater events and various workshops here every month except for during July and August. We could use some help in several areas. If you like cozy bookstores and want to volunteer some of your skills to gain experience, to better this community and yourself, contact me and we can chat! See the inner workings of a nonprofit arts organization up close and personal. We need more hands at marketing. We need someone who is adept at organizing paperwork - files, reports.... We could use help researching grants and with data entry, especially in marketing areas. We have a Facebook page and we could use help posting blogs and such on that, as well as on the website. The intern would have direct exposure to the public, artists and professionals in the art world. The Buttonwood Tree has a solid reputation as a venue for unique performers, varied and eclectic shows, an on-the-edge art gallery and a really cool atmosphere. Musicians from all over the world seek to get The Buttonwood Tree on their resume, wouldn't it look good on yours?
