General Summary
To assist in planning the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford's 150th Anniversary celebration. The Alumni Intern will help with tasks relating to marketing and communication. He/she will research and interact with Boys & Girls Clubs' alumni. The internship can be done for university credit or for resume experience, and is unpaid. Hours are flexible and negotiable.
Essential Job Functions:
? Support and articulate the Club's mission/principles. Ensure the organization's mission core beliefs, youth development outcomes, core programs are communicated to Board members, current supporters, potential supporters and the community.
? Writing support for 150th Anniversary committee via letters, website articles, press releases, etc.
? Internet research related to committee's needs
? Identify and recruit alumni
? Compile data and statistics from alumni responses to survey to tell the Boys & Girls Clubs' story
? Communications with alumni, Development Committees, etc.
? Event planning - assistance with preparation and logistics of events surrounding the 150th Anniversary
Minimum Requirements:
? English, Communications, Marketing or related field of study
? Time Management skills a must
? Self motivated, and excellent follow up skills
? Microsoft Office knowledge (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
? Ability to deal with the general public in a professional, courteous manner
? Attention to detail coupled with an ability to see the "big picture"
? Effective written and oral communication skills
? Excellent organizational skills
? Ability to take initiative
