Description:
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for providing administrative support for Private Events at the Riverfront Park System to include sales & marketing of the Jaycees Boathouse, administration and back up supervision of events. Sales & Marketing - handling sales calls and site tours; assisting in the production and distribution of marketing materials; draft and issue client correspondence associated with private events. Administration - daily contract management utilizing Caterease software, client support, coordinate service provider activitiy, assist with supply inventory and ordering including beverages, paper good and equipment, internal coordination and communications of private events, assist with vendor contract administration, business activity and reporting and documentation. Back up supervision of events - occasional on-site supervision of private events, ensure timely and complete preparation of facilities prior to an event, assist in the set up and service provider coordination, provide support for client before, during and after an event, oversee and assist with beverage service and reconciliation, assist with and ensure proper break down of the event.
Minimum Requirements:
Skills: Must have valid drivers license and access to a vehicle. Ability to lift 40-50lbs., multi-task, write letters and others simple correspondence. Must be willing to work flexible work hours, including some weekends. Must be able to type proficiently and work within the Windows computer system including Word and Excel. Great position for a college student going to school for hospitality management. Will be exposed to all aspects of event planning. Must be able to work from April - October. TIPS Training a plus but not necessary.
