Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, the second largest national tax preparation firm in the county is looking for students who are currently enrolled in school either part time or full time and are looking to enhance their resumes with real life experience actually pertaining to their field of choice other than fast food or retail experience.
This Jackson Hewitt Tax Service is a franchise that is independently owned and operated. During tax season, our offices are open M-F, 9-9, Saturdays 9-5 and occasional Sundays 12-5. Being open a minimum of 68 hours per week, we have several shifts available.
You must be able to commit to a MINIMUM of 20 hours per week and we are willing to work with qualified candidates to schedule work hours convenient to student schedules.
Tax preparer positions will provide you with actual hands on experience to apply what you've learned in theory in your classes. Additions to your resume would be working in a professional office environment, applying customer service skills, applying your current tax knowledge and learning new tax laws, developing decision making abilities.
Other industries that tax preparation experience is helpful in include financial, banking, certain legal fields and real estate.
Rate of pay is hourly.
Minimum Requirements:
Jackson Hewitt Tax Service is looking for students who have completed any of the following tax related courses: intro to federal income tax preparation, theories of federal tax preparation, advanced theories of tax preparation or concepts of tax preparation. Volunteering for VITA is a plus.
