General Summary
To assist in overall Development functions. The Development Intern helps with tasks related to the planning, organization, and execution of organization events such as the Annual Spring Gala, BGCH Golf Tournament, and Dashaway Luncheon. The internship can be done for university credit or for resume experience, and is unpaid. Hours are flexible and negotiable.
Essential Job Functions:
? Support and articulate the Club's mission/principles. Ensure the organization's mission core beliefs, youth development outcomes, core programs are communicated to Board members, current supporters, potential supporters and the community.
? Writing support for Development Department via letters, website articles, press releases, etc.
? Communications with donors, committees, etc.
? Event planning - assistance with preparation and logistics
? Attend and assist in the execution of special events.
? Heavy solicitation for event auction items.
? Internet research related to department's needs.
? Assist with other development projects as assigned by the Development Team.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
? English, Communications, Marketing or related field of study
? Time Management skills a must
? Self motivated, and positive team player
? Microsoft Office knowledge (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
? Ability to deal with the general public in a professional, courteous manner
? Attention to detail coupled with an ability to see the "big picture"
? Effective written and oral communication skills
? Excellent organizational skills
? Ability to take initiative
