PURPOSE
The Microsoft Technology Consultant will provide general development expertise and application development talent for the successful delivery of Microsoft platform solutions.  They will work directly with clients and project teams in the overall application design and development of the solution.  The ideal candidate will be eager to learn new technologies, demonstrate existing skills and exhibit strong problem solving and critical analysis. 

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize Visual Studio 2008/2010 and .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0 to deliver solutions built on Microsoft platform technologies including methodologies such as Object Oriented Design (OOD), Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Work with colleagues and clients to develop an overall solution vision and effectively communicate initiatives with the entire project team.
  • Communicate and present ideas and solutions to project sponsors, client team members and stakeholders.
  • Work with diverse and distributed teams in a collaborative manner regardless of assigned role or reporting lines.
  • Capture, integrate, communicate, educate, and apply the knowledge, experiences, and lessons-learned that are acquired from each engagement.
  • Some NE regional travel may be required but is not extensive.

Minimum Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.  Experience (does not need to be work related, can be academic or hobby) should entail the following:

  • Experience with or knowledge of Visual Studio 2008/2010 and .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0 and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with or knowledge of SharePoint and BizTalk 2006/2009/2010 a major plus.
  • Familiarity with Windows 2003/2008 operating system, its security model, and IIS.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
  • Superior interpersonal, team building and leadership skills required.
  • Microsoft MCSD, MCAD, MCTS or MCP certification is a plus.
