A publishing/marketing internship is available each semester, intersession, and during the summer with ThinkGlobal Incorporated, a Northampton, MA-based publishing, marketing, and e-commerce company. Our internship program has been a way for many students to gain hands on experience in the work world for over 7 years.
ThinkGlobal Incorporated is located at 3 Olive St. in Northampton, MA. We publish Commercial News USA, a bi-monthly magazine for the U.S. Department of Commerce. The publication is an export promotion magazine for U.S. companies to advertise their products and services to 176 countries around the world. It's the only magazine of its kind with international circulation of 100,000 copies. Most of the work done by our interns is related to Commercial News USA.
We can offer practical work experience in a well-supervised, pleasant working environment. Interns will gain hands-on experience with magazine publishing as well as gain valuable computer skills in a variety of programs. Interns are involved in the day-to-day operations of ThinkGlobal Incorporated as well as the ongoing projects that involve critical thinking, communication and time management skills.
We are looking for students to assist with the daily functions of publishing a bi-monthly magazine as well as assist with various projects related to the publication.
Responsibilities for the internship include:
market research
database management
survey tabulation
editorial and production assistance
circulation assistance
proofreading
sales staff support
This is an unpaid internship. If receiving credit for the internship, we are happy to complete any paperwork that is required. Hours are flexible and can be tailored to your schedule.
Minimum Requirements:
We are looking for students with:
good verbal communication and telephone skills
the ability to work independently
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access familiarity a plus
web browser/search engine experience
HTML skills a plus
good organizational skills
good time management skills
