Description:
Award-winning, start-up oompany seeks energetic intern(s) to conduct research, complete compliance reports and filings and to work on federal, state and local government issues and projects. Persons interested in interning should be efficient, effective and have a basic understanding of government operations, the legal system and a strong interest in government or the law. Candidates should also have a strong interest in working in the live entertainment field; including, concerts, theater and sporting events. Position needs to be filled by October 9th. The right candidate may be given the opportunity for an earlier start date.
Minimum Requirements:
* Candidates should have a basic understanding and knowledge of research procedures on various topics; including, the law, court cases, government regulations and government operations.
* Candidates should be interested in pursuing a legal, political science or other public policy-related field upon graduation.
* Candidates should be self-starters, eager to achieve and willing to work in a very fast-paced environment and be able to exercise practical and sound judgment with little or no supervision.
* Candidates with volunteer or paid experience in political campaigns or government advocacy are strongly encouraged to apply.
* Candidates will also be responsible for authoring, reviewing and handling various correspondence for the office and other light clerical duties.
* Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs; including, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Internet Explorer. Basic understanding of HTML and other simpl
