Community Renewal Team, Inc. is seeking two interns to assist in the Department of Correction programs. These are unpaid, entry level positions for those looking to enter the field of human services. In the Community Renewal Teams' Byrne and Project Transition Housing Programs, we work with those being released or have been recently released from incarceration in conjunction with the State of CT Department of Corrections in order to reduce recidivism rates. Our participants may have mental health and / or substance use concerns.
An intern in these Programs would learn documentation through case notes as well as correspondence, orient incoming participants to Program policies and procedures, keep statistical information for monthly and quarterly reports, conduct weekly home visits, random toxicology screening and preparing housing units for incoming units. The individual's being considered for these positions should have reliable transportation.
Minimum Requirements:
Junior or Senior level College Student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services. Must have reliable transportation.
