Description:
Summary: Designed to provide general support for the Human Resources department exposing the intern to multiple aspects of HR. Intern is expected to have active participation in all assigned projects, to have dependable attendance and to communicate in a professional manner so that HR Staff can provide guidance and oversight. Must have the ability to handle confidential information.
Intern may be asked to participate in some of the following activities as appropriate to their internship and skill level:

Basic support for HR department: Filing as needed to support HR department. Preparation in mass mailings/distribution of materials across agency, producing ID badges for CHL staff, Various HR reporting task, re-organization of HR personnel files.

Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.

Gather personnel records from other departments or employees.

Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, supervisory reports on performance.

Participation in Recruiting Task

Request information from previous employers, and other references to determine applicants' employment acceptability.

Review employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants.

Assist with advertising or posting of job vacancies

Exposure to Credentialing task

Participation in HR Orientation process

Exposure to, or participation in projects in other area of HR or Payroll as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Good computer skills
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within a faced-paced environment
Demonstrates initiative
Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall)
