Description:
This position will assist in production and artist management. The Operation pages will assist the Operations Manager with production riders, orchestra plots, runout concerts and rehearsal hall set-ups and auditions. Our Pages will also assist the Operations Department with guest artist contracts, data sheets, riders, and itineraries, and will help with logistical details such as hotel and transportation for guest artists. These pages will gain valuable experience in many areas of Operations, including working in different venues and working with many types of musicians. This internship offers flexible hours, great opportunities to learn and improve skills such as multi-tasking and managing many different projects, paying attention to detail, and having a working relationship with many different people including musicians, guest artists, technical staff, and stagehands. Upon request, HSO Pages can be exposed to a variety of orchestra software including OPAS, an orchestra planning software utilized by many orchestras around the country as well as Microsoft Visio, a design program used for orchestra plots. This is a great internship for anyone interested in the nuts and bolts of putting on a show. Complimentary tickets may be available for a variety of events. Page hours can be used towards course credit or volunteer hours. Start and end dates are negotiable. This position is unpaid.
Minimum Requirements:
The qualified candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is a strong plus. The candidate must be dedicated and should have experience in the performing arts. This Internship is best suited for a student planning a career in the professional music industry and/or professional arts administration. While supervision and direction is readily available, the intern will be expected to be a self-starter and able to work independently.
