About Us:
The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. For over 60 years, the National MS Society, with its nationwide network of chapters, has worked toward the goal to find a cure for MS, and to improve the quality of life for people with MS and their families. The Society funds more MS research than any other private organization in the world. The Greater Connecticut Chapter has been serving the local community since 1961. The chapter provides a wide range of services in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham counties. The Greater Connecticut Chapter's client population of 4,000 people with MS, their families, and the health care community, benefit from services such as information and referral, educational seminars, family programs, and support groups. The chapter also provides financial assistance for access to needed items such as medical equipment and home modifications as well as services such as crisis support and short-term homecare.
