Allied Community Services, Inc., and its subsidiaries serve more than 3,500 individuals with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, physical handicaps and acquired brain injuries, as well as senior citizens, high school students and veterans throughout the state of Connecticut and Alabama. Established in 1999 as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt "parent corporation," Allied Community Services provides overall management, financial services, human resources and administrative support for three subsidiaries.
Allied Community Resources is a subsidiary of Allied Community Services, Inc. Existing programs available through Allied Community Resources include HUSKY State Insurance Outreach Services, Fiscal Intermediary Services, Provider Outreach and Training Services.
In calendar year 2008, ACR's Fiduciary Services Division coordinated provider training services statewide to over 2,000 individuals and processed over 177,000 invoices and timesheets as part of our fiscal intermediary contracts with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Developmental Disabilities. The Division provides provider and consumer training, performs outreach to develop directories of approved service providers statewide, and provides statewide fiscal intermediary services - payroll and tax reporting services on behalf of the participants.
The Allied organization currently employs more than 150 professional staff members and 140 consumer-employees. The agency has an annual operating budget of more than $25 million. Allied owns its primary office and production facilities at 3 Pearson Way in Enfield and 6 Craftsman Road in East Windsor, CT and leases residences in Enfield, East Windsor and South Windsor. Allied's service area comprises the entire state of Connecticut and reaches into western Massachusetts.
